It's been a while since I posted. Bella can pull herself up to stand now. She loves to hold onto the baby gate.
As I was taking her picture she biffed it!

But she landed safe and sound :)

The Scoot-Crawl

Bella wants to crawl, but she can't commit. So she made up The Scoot-Crawl (patent pending). Its hilarious. I promise her left leg isn't broken or paralyzed; she just wants to drag it in front of her! If I put her on both of her knees to crawl, she falls flat on her face. Don't worry Bella, you'll figure it out sooner or later!

I bought the outfit below in China 9 years ago for my future daughter. Bryndi can finally wear it!!

My princesses

I thought I'd take a picture with Bryndi since I never post pics of myself. (Always behind the camera.) Later when I looked at this picture I was mortified to notice all the wrinkles on my face! I can't believe I'm getting old! So I must confess that I photoshopped those bad boys right out of the photo!
Bryndi got dressed up to go to her cousin's princess birthday party. Cinderella did wear wings in the movie Ever After ;) So this little princess is 2 1/2 years old now and she's potty trained!! So last night we went to dinner at Red Lobster with some friends and I took her to use the restroom when we got there. Bryndi was loving the live tank of lobsters and when we were finishing up with dinner she wandered off to go look at them. I brought her back to the table and when we were getting ready to leave she wandered off again. I went to the tank and she wasn't there. I looked all around. No Bryndi. So before I started to panic I looked in the restroom. Sure enough, I saw her pants, shoes and socks on the floor and she was using the toilet! She had even locked the stall door. I was so proud of her for going to the bathroom by herself in such a big place, that I couldn't get mad at her for wandering off!

Bella got to wear wings too. Note the one sock. She's good at taking her socks off.

Everywhere I go people comment on what beautiful big brown eyes Bella has. I couldn't agree more

Catch up

We celebrated Daneen's birthday a couple weeks ago. (She's Richard's sister--isn't she pretty? I think Bella will look like her when she grows up.) Anyway, I teased Daneen about how the house would catch fire with 30 candles on the cake. When I looked at these pictures, I thought, oh sad, the second pic turned out blurry.

NOPE! That's just all the smoke! Love ya Daneen!

Then there was Bella's 9 month mark a couple days ago. I love this baby!!!!

We sure love warmer weather. Richard caught some good swinging photos. I love the dimples!

Primary Children's Medical Center

When Bryndi was born she had a heart murmur, which turned out to be a VSD (ventricular septal defect). Basically a little hole in her heart. The murmur went away, but the cardiologist wanted a follow up now that she's 2, to make sure everything is fine. So we made the trip up to Primary Children's in Salt Lake to have a heart echocardiogram done. Bryndi did NOT want to cooperate. She let the tech put the leads on her, but when it was time to do the echo, she cried and cried.


Now for my confession. I worked at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo for 5 1/2 years in the newborn ICU. I was always miffed when I would hear stories about all the fabulous things that Primary's got to do in their NICU because of donations. I thought, same company-- why can't they share the donations with our babies at our hospital? So I resented it and I never wanted to donate to things that were fund raisers for Primary's. Childish, I know, but this has carried on for years. Now I've seen the error of my ways. This hospital is fabulous! They gave Bryndi this red teddy bear, and the blanket she's sitting on. Then when she finally calmed down enough to do the echo, they gave her some tokens to buy toys with from little vending machines.


So here she is waiting for the cardiologist to come in. Toys in each hand, a bracelet on her wrist, and a huge smile on her face. Her heart is totally fine, no need for another follow up. Bryndi actually threw a fit when we left the hospital and has asked to go back several times. And several times a day she tells me that Ali put jelly on her chest. (the tech's name was Aliesha and the jelly is same stuff as when you get an ultrasound.)

Okay, so now I love Primary Children's! I should have loved them all along because this little niece of mine has spent countless days there. This is Tabitha. She has SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) and I actually get to be her nurse 3 times a week. She is in a program that pays for a respite nurse and my sister-in-law hired me! So I'm happy with the hospital, but let's all pray that Tabitha DOESN'T go to the there again!

Can I hold you?

Bryndi asked if she could hold Bella. Yeah, she's not exactly a little tiny thing. Bryndi still asks "Mommy, can I hold you?" when she wants me to hold her. I think its so sweet that I just don't correct her on it.

I love it when the girls get into a giggle fest with each other. They love to make each other laugh!

Both girls love to have shoulder rides from their Dad!

Baptisms

My niece Kaylie and my sister Sharmon were both baptized on February 28th. What a great day! Here is Kaylie at the get-together after her baptism.

I tried to get a pic of these three babies together, but all but this one were blurry. April is only 10 months old and WALKING. Bella is 8 months and is thinking about crawling soon. That's their cousin Zac with his back towards us. Sorry Brenda!
