My first day of canning this season! 14 quarts and 32 pints of spaghetti sauce!

"Mom, here's a list of what I want at my birthday party."

This cracks me up. This is Bryndi's list: a cake, party hats, a chair, a table, a friend, a pinata (friends in line to hit it), balloons, horns/noisemakers (you know, the kind you blow in and it rolls out), and clouds in the sky (because she wants the party outside). And then she tells me that she wants a flower pinata with pink and purple petals and a yellow center. Then cupcakes with polka dots, stripes, flowers, hearts, and rainbows. Well Honey, I said, maybe some of these things you can have at your party next year because Mom isn't going to make 5 different kinds of cupcakes. Okay, Mom. Some of them I'll wait until I'm six.
