Hiding under the couch

So my sister Melody gave Bryndi some hair bows for her birthday. I decided to figure out how to make them myself and I'm hooked. I made this super easy hair bow holder yesterday and you can see some of the bows I've made. So fun.

Bella doesn't even scoot yet, I thought. But I came into the living room yesterday and found this scene.
It was deja-vu as you can see with Bryndi's pic.

Muscles

Yesterday I had Bella at my brother's house and my 5-year-old nephew Evan was watching as I changed her diaper. When I took off Bella's pants and he saw all the rolls on her legs he excitedly yelled, "Look! She has muscles!" As I continued to change her, he was surprised that she was not fighting me, since she is so strong with all those muscles and all :)

Photo shoot

These are some pictures of Bryndi when she was 12 months old. This morning as I was getting Bella dressed, I put this same outfit on her.

So I decided to do a little photo shoot. Complete with the stuffed pink elephant from the picture.

Can you believe Bella is seven months old? I can't believe they're wearing the same outfit!

Yep, Bella could be in a mascara commercial: "Your lashes could be full like this baby's".

A little attitude...
Tired after all that posing for the camera...

Mmm....toes....

I had to run and get the camera when I saw this yesterday. Yum!

Bryndi and her friend Naidelyn. Can you tell which one is from Guatemala? Looks like a toss up to me!

Cuddle time with Dad :)

These girls really love each other. Bryndi loves to make Bella laugh.

Good Manners

So this morning I asked Bryndi if she wanted some milk. She yelled, "No! I do NOT want some milk!" I told her calmly so say "no thank you, Mommy". Which she did, and then she looked up at me and said, "I sorry I scream at you, Mommy."

Then later we were at a friend's house and it was time to go. I said, "Bryndi, come here," and she came up to me and said, "Yes, ma'am?"

If I give Bryndi something that she likes (like candy), she almost always looks up at me with a smile and says, "Thanks, Mommy! Thanks!" without any prompting from me.

We have a neighbor family from Mexico who doesn't speak much English. The nine year old girl, Nancy, who Brydni calls Dancy, comes over frequently in the afternoons to have me translate the instructions to her homework. She always brings her 4-year-old cousin Melissa along. Bryndi lights up whenever she sees Melissa and says, "Look, Mom! My best friend!"

This evening Bryndi's stuffed lamb fell off the bed. She picked her up and said in her sweetest voice, "You okay, Lamb? You go bonk? You got owie? I kiss it better." She gave her lamb a kiss and cuddled her. She does that all the time to her dolls or stuffed animals if they fall down.

Snowshoeing

Richard and I went snowshoeing on Saturday. Not something I'd ever done before, but I enjoyed it quite a bit! We went up Provo Canyon and had fun breaking up undisturbed white fields and following the deer and other animal tracks in the snow.

Well, Bryndi didn't go with us, but I think this picture of her dressed up as a magenta snow marshmallow is great :)

I'm cool.

Bryndi found a head lamp, like the kind you would wear in a cave and put it around her neck like a necklace. She then came up to me and said "Look, Mommy. I'm a nurse!" I guess the headlamp reminded her of a stethoscope. So I said "Great Bryndi. Did you know that I'm a nurse too?" She replied, "No," thought for a minute and then added, "Cool."
